Antique Chinese Famille Rose Footed Square Serving Bowl
; Up for sale is the Chinese famille rose square footed bowl with hand painted scenes, dated likely late 19
th
century or earlier. The bowl with concave corners is decorated around sides with various scenes, in which enameled girls are involved in different activities. The surrounding
flower pattern
on blue ground accompanied by tendrils is flamboyant. The interior and bottom are with a turquoise glaze, while the foot is on yellow ground decorated with floral motifs. Although a Qianlong mark (1735-1795) is found on the bottom, the real date of manufacture we thought could be later.
Measures: approx. [8” x 8”], (upper rim, edge to edge) x 3 ¼” high x [5” x 5”], (base, edge to edge).
Condition: Very good and clean, with no chips, cracks or repairs, except with some scratches to the bottom.
