Using the “Country of Origin” as a Dating Tool for China-
In 1914, The Imports Law was revised and the phrase “Made in …” was required.  Over the years and recently have been items without “made in…”
There has been extensive trade with China from Colonial times.  From 1891 until 1949 their production was marked “made in China” and “China”.  From 1949 to the mid-1970s, there were no trade relations with mainland China.  During the 1960s, the island of Taiwan became a major source of pricier electronic items and was marked “made in the republic of China”.  President Nixon’s first trip to China was 1972 and he opened the doors toward normalization of trade with China and in 1978, full normalized was established and products were marked “made in China”.
From information acquired, country name only is maybe 1891-1914 and “made in China” is 1891-1949 and after 1978.
There is a high probability that it was made between 1891-1949.
